This is Labour week-end here in NZ. That means, in theory, if you have a beach house, or bach, you should have headed out to it on Friday to open it up for the summer. The NZ bach was a wonderful tradition - there are still some around, but, in general, they have been replaced by the ubiquitous lifestyle beachfront house.
